Course Description: This training program is intended to provide entry level
construction workers information about their rights, employer responsibilities,
and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent
job related hazards on a construction site. The training covers a variety of
construction safety and health hazards which a worker may
encounter at a construction site. Training will emphasize hazard identification,
avoidance, control and prevention, not OSHA standards. Upon completion of this
training course and payment of the fee, the participant will receive their OSHA
10 Hour Card.
Requirements: Minimum of 3 students
For This Class...
Intro to OSHA (2 hrs.): Focus Four (4 hrs.): (2) Electrocution (1 hr.
and 15 min.) (3) Struck-By (e.g.,
falling objects, trucks, cranes) (45 min.) (4) Caught-In or Between (e.g., trench hazards, equipment)
(45 min.) Personal Protective and
Lifesaving Equipment (30 min.): Health Hazards in
Construction (30 min.): (2) Silica (15 min.) Elective (2 hrs.) (4) Tools - Hand and Power (30 min.) - OR - (5) Materials Handling, Storage,
Use and Disposal (30 min.) Optional (1 hr.)
